Welcome once again to Searching For The Savior Saturday. I am thrilled that you have stopped in to visit. It is an exciting time in the world of missions. The efforts that are going on around the world are just amazing. After much prayer and thought about exactly how we wanted to do SFTSS (Searching For The Savior Saturday). We were lead in the direction of each month we would focus on one "people group" in a particular country/region. This way we could really TRY and understand and know more specifically how to pray for those people. We will be looking at
How they raise their children-
What do they do for hobbies-
When do they get married-
What percentage of them are Christians-
Are they a country that is open to the gospel-
Are there missionaries in place there already-
How can we be praying specifically for them-
These are the things that we will be talking and praying and discussing. Of course we are getting prepared for the first country/region that we have been lead to. You will have to join us next week to find out where we will be.
No matter where we are, we are on a mission field. Your mission maybe-
Here in the states-
Maybe it's across the street to a neighbor-
Maybe it's in your place of employement-
Maybe it's your relatives-
Maybe it's your family in your own home-
Maybe the Lord is asking you to go to another state-
Another country-
Maybe it's in the grocery store to that single mom standing in line with 2 screaming children and you offer to help with the cart or hold a child while she pays-
Maybe it's taking the leap of faith and getting on an airplane to go to the other side of the world.
Only He knows what He has planned for us. It's up to us, when He shows us, act on it and be obedient.
I am reminded of the signs that we have at Cornerstone as you are leaving the parking lot. It says- "You are now entering the Mission Field".
Join us next week for the big kick-off. It's going to be GREAT!!!!!!!
Serving Him ONLY,
Pam

Yesterday we thought about how important prayer is to our life. So here are some practical tips on praying without ceasing.
1) Tape scripture to your cabinets and pray as you are working in your kitchen.
2) Pray for each person in your family as you fold their laundry.
3) Pray the specific areas of your house.
Family room-pray for harmony between children or purity in TV watching.
Kitchen- Thank God for being your daily bread and pray for healthy eating habits.
Kids Bedrooms- Pray for peaceful sleep and time to relax.
4) Housecleaning prayers
Pray as you clean your house. Be thankful for what you have. As you wipe away the dirt and grime ask God to clean your heart. To show any area that needs to be wiped clean so that you can shine for Him.
As you pick up toys pray for patience with your kids or grandkids.
Prepare a meal- Pray for provision
5) Keep a prayer journal
6) Every time you see a UPS truck pray for something specific.
7) Go on a prayer walk.
8) Pray for specific things on each day of the week.
Monday- Pray for the church.
Tuesday- Missionaries
Wednesday- Country
Thursday- friends and family
Friday- the sick
Saturday- neighbors
Sunday-the lost
9) Find a prayer partner
I hope that you can use some of these and find that prayer is becoming more and more a necessity and not a chore.

Chore or Necessity?
Dear Lord, so far today I am doing pretty well. I haven't screamed at anyone or thrown anything in a burst of anger. I have not grumbled or gossiped or whined. I haven't been greedy or self-centered. I have not yet charged anything to the credit card, and I haven't pigged out on the chocolate cake in the refrigerator. However, in a few minutes I will be getting out of bed, and I am going to need your help to make it through the rest of the day. Amen
We may laugh at this prayer but this woman recognized her need for God's help to make it through the day. She obviously considered prayer a necessity. What is prayer to you? Is it a burden that you must get done each day so you can check it off your "to do" list, or is it a blessed necessity in you life?
Think about it!

Breast Cancer….What a ride!
As I tell you my story I am mindful of the many lives my testimony may touch. I think of women who have just received those dreaded words…”you have breast cancer.” And I think of women who have lost loved ones to breast cancer and to women who are yet to be diagnosed with breast cancer. As a breast cancer survivor of eleven years I ask myself, “what can I say to you that will make a difference?”
Well, women are possessors of great emotion. We were uniquely and wonderfully designed that way. Our emotions are the common thread we share that weaves its way through our relationships with other women. We share the joy and excitement in our lives and we cry over the losses and suffering in our lives. Our emotions can take us on quite a ride. A diagnosis of breast cancer can set off a cascade of emotions. King David said in Psalm 55:5, “fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me. “ Sounds rather grim but if you read further down David says, BUT, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress and He hears my voice, He ransoms me unharmed from the battle waged against me.” David goes on to say, cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you. In Psalm 56 he says, when I am afraid I will trust in you. In Psalm 57 he says, I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.
My point is this: The only stabilizer of our emotions is our King Jesus. He is greater than any problem, situation, or diagnosis we will ever face. I could not have faced breast cancer without Jesus. Sadly, I witnessed women suffering from breast cancer without faith in Christ and my heart ached for them. They were afraid and overwhelmed. I shared my hope with these precious women. You see, Jesus is the answer He and He alone makes the difference. So, whether you have breast cancer, have lost someone to breast cancer or down the road may be diagnosed with breast cancer the difference lays in faith in Jesus and putting your trust in Him.
During my treatments I found a verse that especially ministered to me. Phil 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your minds in Christ Jesus". I visualized our Jesus sitting guard over my mind and heart, knowing he would never leave nor forsake me gave me the courage and strength I needed. Yes, I am a woman of great emotions and I cried. I also laughed and gave praise to the One and Only King Jesus for his marvelous love and compassion and holding me tight in his everlasting arms. He is the anchor of our souls and I can testify that the anchor holds!
In closing please remember that breast cancer is not a death sentence. Early detection saves lives. Have a mammogram every year, starting at least age 40. Practice monthly self exams and see your Doctor for regular breast exams. Also remember most lumps are not cancerous. Every woman is at risk for breast cancer, and your risk increases with age. I’m praying for you!
Under His Wings…I take refuge!

If your life has ever been touched personally by breast cancer please leave us a comment of your story or if we can pray for you.

Silent Sunday. Hmmmm. We are actually going to ask women to be still and to be quiet. This is so hard for some. I know it is for me. Writing this entry it has occurred to me that not every woman reading may be a mom, a wife, a fiance, but you maybe a beautiful, strong single woman. Maybe you are even a strong, single mom due to circumstances. Our prayer is for this day of the week to be a day that you can come to this blog. You can read scripture. You can get encouragement from His word and see how much He loves you. Maybe you need Him to touch your heart. Maybe He is prodding you to do something totally different or pray in a new way. This is where we hope that you will use this as a jumping spot. Take the verses, the words shared and pray about them. Seek Him with all of your heart. His word tells us when we seek Him with our whole heart, we will find Him.
Let's take a moment and just rest.
Take in a big deep breath.
Let His presence wash over you.
Let Him fill you as you sit in front of your computer.
His word says-
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever should believe on Him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" Matthew 11:28-30
" God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though it's waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."....................Selah Psalm 46:3
If you are in need of prayer please leave a comment. If you wish to remain anonymous, that is not a problem. The Lord knows who you are and knows all of the details. May He bless you today as you have some time here with Him.
Praying for you,
Pam

My name is Pam Kennedy. I am wife to Bo Kennedy. I am Mom to Kaleb(2), Tonya(18) and Kyle(21). I am a sinner saved by grace. I am passionate about my Lord and my Savior. Without Him, I don't even want to think where I would be today. Saturdays, here on Cornerstone Woman Blog, is titled "Searching For A Savior Saturday". On this day, we will be praying and talking and researching and understanding who, what, when, where, why and how in regards to missions. This maybe People Groups from around the world. It maybe something simple as to how to share your testimony in line at the grocery store. It maybe talking about women in another part of the world and their daily struggles. Sometimes on these Saturdays, there may be just a picture. The old line that "A picture is worth a Thousand Words" will hold true many times. It may be a picture with a caption,a verse or even an uploaded video and song. The point of this day is to cause our focus to be turned toward those who don't know our Savior and the love, peace and joy that you and I experience on a daily basis. It will also cause us to think and remember that we were given the ultimate gift of eternal life and being able to live eternally in Heaven. When was the last time that you weeped (I mean REALLY weeped) for those that are dying and going to Hell? It should move us to action. That is what my prayer is for Searching For A Savior Saturday. Won't you join me? I look forward to hearing from you. Post a comment, questions, concerns and request. Let's meet here next Saturday and get started. I would like to leave you with a song that speaks volumes to me.
In His Power,
Pam

It's the Monday before Thanksgiving. You are frantic. The family is coming in three days. You have to clean the house, decorate, cook the meal and be refreshed and happy. Inside you are about to panic. Have you been there? We have all been there. Today we are going to "focus" on a few helpful hints to help us have a calm, enjoyable holiday.
1) Plan your meal now. Start picking up ingredients you need as you see them on sale.
2) Choose a room or two each week between now and the week before Thanksgiving(there are 4 weeks) and clean them from top to bottom. That way the week of Thanksgiving all you have to do is quick run through.
3) Start decorating. Light a seasonal candle while you clean, it will help you get in the holiday mindset.
4) If there is anything you can prepare ahead of time DO IT.
5) Don't be afraid to ask for help.
6) As you are cleaning give thanks to God for all your blessings this year. If we keep our eyes on Him it is hard to get frantic.
7) Tackle one holiday at a time.
8)Enjoy your family and friends.
Maybe you prepare for the holidays a different way. Please leave us your "survival tip" in the comments or leave an idea for Focused Friday. Until then....

Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34:8
I love bread. I especially like to make bread. Zucchini, pumpkin, friendship, wheat, rolls, biscuits. Any kind of bread. The Bible says that Jesus is the Bread of Life. I think about how good all those breads taste and then relate it to Jesus. Spending my daily time with him is definitely more fulfilling and yummy than any bread I could make. So, I ask you
Have you had your taste today?

Extra, Extra Read all about it.
I something very exciting to tell you about and it could not wait until next Monday.
Women’s LDI Class that will be offered this next semester, beginning November 4. It is a 6 week study that focuses on the lives of Sarah and Hagar.
Redeeming Our Regrets: The Entangled Lives of Sarah and Hagar sounds like a soap opera, and the lives
of these women reads like a soap opera. Sarah is the wife of a wealthy man, and Hagar is Sarah’s servant.
Both are the kind of women to whom we all can relate. They made mistakes, they repeated their mistakes,
they struggled through difficult times in life, and they knew what it felt like to fail. The turning point in this
story is when God entangles Himself into both of their lives. Like these women, you too
can find redemption from the regrets that seem to haunt you, and experience the deep joy and peace that comes
from truly seeing “the God who sees” you!

As you watch the video this morning. Listen to these words. Words of our Lord and Savior asking us to come away with Him. Powerful words. As I watched it a second and third and fourth time, I could not help notice the power of His presence. The band members and backup singers stop singing and playing their instruments and then are face down on the floor. OH that we would have times of worship such as this. Bless His Holy Name!!!!!!

I think Testimony Tuesday is going to be my favorite day. This is the day we get to share our hearts with one another. This is the day we need to grab a cup of coffee, settle in and get to know others. As the women's ministry is preparing for its "rebuilding" one of the focuses is that there is a place for everyone to serve and that everyone will be ministered to. Keep that in mind as I tell you my story.
By the way this is Tara Dollyhigh. As many of you know I have three kids. The way I serve in the church has changed over the last six years. I have not been able to be as involved as I once was because of my calling as a Mom. Honestly, it has been very lonely at times. I have missed talking, sharing and being with women. When approached with helping rebuild the women's ministry I thought I would see what it was all about but didn't know if I could commit the time.
I left the first meeting knowing exactly where I was going to serve and even had my ideas ready. I am much more comfortable facilitating Bible studies or organizing activities, so, I was ready to do what I was comfortable doing. God had other ideas in mind. I was asked to pray about it for a week. I honestly went about it half-heartedly to start with, but as I earnestly started seeking God I saw He had a totally different plan for me. God wanted me to head up the communication team. As I pulled out my notebook to see what that would require I said, "No way God. I have no idea how to do any of that stuff. I am not a tech-savy gal." Three weeks ago I had no idea how to do a blog. Yet, here I sit typing the first testimony. Ladies here is the exciting part. As soon as I surrendered to Him and said okay Lord the ideas started flowing(mind you I had no clue how to actually get them on the computer) and I was so excited. God sent me a perfect side-kick,Pam Kennedy, who already has a blog. She has shown me the ins and outs of blogs and she is helping do some of the post. His hand has been on every step and I am honestly humbled to be a part of it. The best part is God is giving me what I have missed. I get to communicate with women on a daily basis. To share, talk fellowship. God gave me the desires of my heart in such a unique way. I hope that this blog will minister to all women no matter age or season of life. I pray that my words will be an encouragement and minister to each of you.
The point is not me but how God can use each us in any way He chooses as long as we are willing.
What is God asking you to do? Step out of your comfort zone He might just give you the desires of your heart.
If you would like to share your testimony of how God has worked in your life please let me know.
Serving Him with fervor,
Tara

Welcome
Welcome to Cornerstone Women's Ministry blog "Cornerstone Woman". We are here to minister to women by helping them in three ways. One: Seek a more intimate relationship with God the Father through prayer and the study of His Word. Two: Helping the "Cornerstone Woman" build transparent relationships so they can receive love and encouragement no matter what season of life they are in. Three: By making a difference in the lives of women in our communities and neighborhoods by sharing the love of Jesus. Each day there will be a new entry. Mondays-Meet your there- will discuss upcoming events for the week and share any reports, news, testimonies from a women's event. Tuesday- Testimony Tuesday- sharing any testimonies from the women in our church. Wednesday-Worshipful Wednesday- Praise and Worship videos. Thursday- Think about it Thursday- a Bible verse, quote, devotion to challenge you in your walk with the Lord. Friday- Focused Friday- practical tips to help in your home, job, diet, exercise and relationships. Saturday-Focusing on women in another country and how we can pray for them. Sunday- Silent Sunday- A day of prayer, there will be a slide show of prayer request. So, that is what we are looking at. I would love anyone who feels they have a story to tell to please let me know so we can post your testimony. The women's ministry is excited to have this outlet to reach women. We pray you will find this encouraging, loving and challenging. Please be patient as we are still in construction but get excited about what is to come. I am!!
